Clay Putnam, CGCS said: I'm sure everyone's intentions are in the right place but Steve is right. Seems like we attempt a step forward with this website and end up 3 steps back. There is always a fix that has to happen with our upgrades. I have no idea what is involved with getting a website up, going, and working properly. I am an end user and my experience is not ideal. Its tolerable. About a step above not visiting the site any longer to avoid the hassle. Is it time to scrap this format and move to a, dare I say, TurfNet-like format? TurfNet always seems to work flawlessly even when they go thru their upgrades. Again, I barely qualify as a novice surfer. All I know is theirs works and this one doesn't.
I said the same about the TurfNet vs. GCSAA formats four years ago or so but that suggestion resulted in crickets.
I also agree with Dr. Stowell. I refuse to upgrade, ever. I refuse to get on the hamster-wheel and chase technology like that industry intends for all of us to do. But they do seem to have everyone bamboozled by the "neat-o, kean-o" latest and greatest. I have a perfectly good Imac at home that is now labeled "vintage". It's 6 years old. It does everything I need it to do but it is no longer "supported" so my next stop is to junk everything and move to the forest wearing nothing but a bark suit and sleep standing up. Enough already.
