I have now owned both Droid phones and an Apple phone. It has been a couple years since I owned a Droid phone but what I recall as the advantages: No storage issues - better camera feature - better all around navigation of features - access to the battery - has a sim card - less expensive. The disadvantages: would lock up from time to time - foreign customer support. The Apple advantages: syncs with my Macbook and IPad - domestic customer support. Disadvantages: lack of storage (always being prompted to "Purchase more storage") - the quality of pics is obviously inferior compared to the Droid - more expensive.

Hit me with your opinions. Chuck or keep the Apple?

I have both - an Android for my personal use and an iPhone for work. I haven't found a difference between either one.

By no means an expert, but I have a Droid and most of my staff have iPhones and my experience the iPhone pictures are hands down better. Otherwise I think you hit the nail on the head...no clear winner, comes down to preference with Pros and Cons both ways.

Might depend on which iPhone, the newer ones as I understand it have better cameras. I prefer my iPhone, mostly because I can't handle change. Last non iPhone I had was an HTC, when the boy was a freshman in high school, 5 1/2 years ago.

I would agree that from an operational view, both have their benefits and weaknesses.

However, there are Androids which are built much stronger, with multiple year "no questions asked" guarantees. I just received back my Sonim XP7 after melting the cover on a cart path when it wedged between the asphalt and cart tire. Did not cost me a cent.

I cannot say the same for the fragile IPhone....

We are a family of 3 and have 4 iPhones, (I have a work one as well) We have had no problems whatsoever of damage as long as they have been in Otterboxes, only phone damage was the boy's and it wasn't in an Otter box

Of course you are correct about the guarantees, but we do buy insurance on mine and the boy's.

Ditto on the OtterBox. Standard issue around here.

My opinion it's about how you take care of stuff like everything. I still use my iPhone 4 and still works just fine. And just have a generic phone case. My crew gives me a hard time but it gets the job done. But I'm looking at getting a iPhone 7 or might wait for the iPhone 8 to come out.

Agree, my 5 didn't really need to be updated, it was still working ok, I think my wife's 5 was acting up just a bit, and of course the boy is hard on his phone, but we were updating our plans and with the 7's on their way, we were able to get a decent deal on the 6's so I got a better camera and could read it better, same deal for my wife, I now hate using my 5C work phone now. but it still works fine.

I'm a fan of the iPhones due to ease of use and the fact that home computers are Macs. I used to get the base models and had storage issues, my current one I opted to go with the 128GB storage and no more worries of running out of space. Being an NSN user, their app is still only available on iPhones as far as I know. But to each their own!

As much as I'd like to say "ditch" the iPhone for you and for me, I honestly have never used a Droid. I made the switch several years ago to all Mac products (iPhone, iPad, MacBook) and despite a love/hate relationship, the ease of use is to convenient to let go. For me, the ability to sync everything automatic, have it in the Cloud, and combine calendars with my wife to keep up with schedules is worth every penny. I know that it is possible with other devices. I recently upgraded to iPhone 7 (after iPhone 5 got under a tractor aerifier!) and the camera is significantly better. All in all, I probably could switch my phone, but the iPad/tablet switch I could not do. I use a PC at work so not the biggest deal. All in all, hang on to it, when you upgrade, buy the largest storage available (despite paying more) and Apple will come to their senses to up the ante against Droid with better features at some point...I hope!
