I am looking to establish a system (I think using color coded irrigation marking flags) whereby I can have supervisors flag irrigation problems by type of problem (i.e. broken head, nozzle needs replacing, etc.) to better ensure the irrigation system is operating efficiently. Does anyone have a system in place? Would love to get more ideas on this.

We have tried the color coded system before, but it seems when we need to mark a head, we don't always have the correct color and it gets forgotten about. We have had numerous irrigation issues and are now just starting to get ahead of the game so maybe in the future we can go to a color coded system again and order a bunch of flags of just a few colors. For now, the color of the flag does not matter. Instead we just use a sharpie and write on the flag what the issue is.

Agree with the problem written on the flag. Use the large size flag. We tried the different colors for different problems but this is much better.

Still amazes me why an irrigation supplier would put their name on a flag. Makes it look like to every golfer that the head that's been leaking on your golf course for two weeks is their problem. Just putting a flag there doesn't fix the problem.

If you are advertising for them, they should supply the flags for free.

We had our logo put on our flags. Our irrigation supplier had a deal if you bought 1000 flags they would set up screen printing for free. Came out nice and looks a lot better than their company logo and name.
