I hope everyone of every faith or non-faith can enjoy what Christmas stands for. Not the excessive commercialism but the goodness of giving. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. The spirit of Christmas could go a long ways to curing the ills of the world if just given a chance. I hope everyone enjoys time with their families and loved ones.

    From an infantry soldier:

As we sit here on Christmas eve and day lets not forget our friends, family, and countrymen still in harms way. While you think damn I have to work today, some young Infantryman is preparing to go on patrol from which he may not return. When you think it is cold outside, think about that platoon in a patrol base on some snow covered and wind sweep mountainside in Afghanistan. When you are at home tonight with family and friends, remember that veteran who is homeless and alone wondering where he or she will sleep tonight. When you sit down for dinner tomorrow think about that servicemen that is eating an MRE. When you take a breath and let it out, somewhere in this world one of our warriors may be taking his last. I'm not trying to bring you down. I am only asking for a thought and prayer for our brothers and sisters still out there on the line.
