Just started as the super at a new course (to me) and while it is winter and covered in snow, I know there is a good amount of greens vandalism on 8 of our greens.  This is a higher end municipal course and higher end conditions are expected.  Someone poured something that killed the turf in late fall/early winter, writing some words in 2 foot high letters and dribbling the liquid in spots all over the greens.  Most of my experience is with push-up greens, these are 30 year old USGA.  I plan to sod the larger areas, hex plug medium and spike/seed smaller areas.  The greens are Penncross.  I've been told the nursery green is A4 and for some reason, sod and plugs from the nursery don't play well when transplanted onto the playable greens.  Looking for any other advice on repair or fertilization for best chance of successful repairs with minimal disruption to golf.  I don't think I'd be allowed to seed and then straw mat these areas.  When I sod, I will stake and people will have to play around those areas, but I think that will be as aggressive as I'm allowed to get.  Thanks!

Steve you better start researching Pencross sod. I don't think much is grown any more if any at all.
