It is my understanding that the prerequisite for complimentary admittance to the Ryder Cup is:
Class A or SM of GCSAA and a member of the Midwest Association of Golf Course Superintendents, is this true? Really, how many additional superintendents would attend from out-of-town? Would it make a difference in the scheme of things - overwhelming the attendance?

    Michael,

I know it was like that when the Ryder Cup was at Oakland Hills near Detroit. Had to be a member of one of the local chapters if I remember correctly.

I haven't seen the recent Ryder Cup ticket situation, didn't check because I knew I wasn't going. I did hear some of the local PGA pros from this area were going to attend.

Michael had to be a member of the local chapters in Michigan when held at Oakland Hills for complimentary entry. I got in through tickets from a Ryder Cup participant. Actually though the crowds are quite large and you must remember you have limited groups.......not like a tour event with golfers stretched from #1 thru #18. Rope access for veiwing can be tough unless you find a spot and park yourself. Fairly difficult to actually walk and follow A group. Big screens out on the golf course at Oakland Hills made it easier to watch groups you could not get close to.

Is there any possibility of attending the Ryder Cup as a GCSAA member?

In the past it has only been available to those in local chapter.

I worked the PGA back in 02 and it's tough to remember some of the holes as they changed the routing. I mowed the fairways along with 8 other guys. I remember the big rain event on the Friday and it stunk. Course looks great even with the 12" of rain Johnny Miller said they've received since Aug 1st. It would have been awesome to see this course running fast now or for any of the events that they've held. Dang Mother Nature as always or most times.

Justin Rose has always seemed like a good guy but I question his press conference after Ryder Cup.
He said setup was Pro-Amish and lack of rough.

Justin - If it was so easy - WHY DIDN'T YOU WIN YOUR MATCH

His barber should get blamed for something. That haircut. Did you see it? Phew! I hope he got his money back.
