Hello, I am a golf course superintendent in the great white north and I am looking for some help. I am looking for a position on a course in the south over this winter season for our current Chinese international intern. She is looking to extend her educational experience in this country for as long as possible. As of now, she would be due to leave sometime in March if she is fortunate enough to find a position somewhere. I have had her in my employ since early August and she has done a great job. She is eager to learn all she can and she has a great attitude. She speaks fluent English so communication limitations are minimal. Her compensation expectations are very reasonable as well. The only challenge would be transportation as she does not have a valid U.S driver's license.
As far as her qualifications are concerned, we have been training her on as much as possible since her arrival. To date she has been a part of bunker maintenance, some course set up (mainly tees), walk mowing of greens, and sod work. She has also been introduced to triplex and fairway mowing but would need more practice in those areas. She has been willing to try everything that she has seen.
If you have some open positions on your crew, or know of someone who does, and you think this could work for your benefit please let me know.
