I have two Torrent 2 blowers and one is turning into a problem child. I have use both machines parts to eliminate  issues. So I have switch out transmitters, recievers, linear accelerator and wiring and still the throttle keeps shutting down. All this happens on the same blower regardless. Is there anything in CH740 engine that could cause the input signal to falter

We have the same blower and have had a problem with the throttle dropping to an idle when in the full throttle position. The throttle would drop to an idle, then throttle back up, then down and on and on. We changed out everything on the machine which nothing worked. My mechanic unscrewed the ECM which is a black box on the motor, wiggled the plug on the back of it when it was running at full throttle and it dropped to an idle immediately. He did this multiple times. He took a c-clamp and clamped the plug tight to the ECM and we haven’t had a problem for over a week now. Let me know if it works.

I had this issue a long time ago, after speaking to kohler they told me to ground one of the wires that went to the ecu i think. its been years since so i cant fully remember exactly what wire i had to ground to the block. your best bet is to always call kohler directly and speak with someone in the tech department they always know how to fix every weird issue you run in to.

It is not just the Turfco blower, I have had the same problem with my Buffalo blower. We replaced ECMs, batteries, ground wires. It seemed after I did one of these it would run great for a few days then act up again by throttle lowering. This has been a problem with 3 of our Buffalo blowers over the years. As much as I like the remote control for the throttle, I am looking at putting a manual lever on to control throttle because we even hooked a wired control box to our Buffalo and it works for chute control, but not throttle.
