Wow, it's been awhile since I've visited here.

Question, we have noticed our crankcases filling up with it appears to be gas in many of our pieces of equipment that were fueled by our most recent fuel delivery,.  The unleaded fuel doesn't appear to have the real heavy "gas' smell, our mechanic wonders if it is possibly some kerosene mixed in with it?  I wondered if it could be E85.  We are seeing it at all three of our courses in some fashion, in old and new equipment.  We still have to check delivery dates and will be checking to see if the issue is being seen at our other parks facilities.  If anybody has an idea what might be the cause we would much appreciate it.

    Thanks!

You ever find out what happened, curious. Never had a situation like that

No,  Our equipment manager from his research thinks it was a little diesel mixed in, fuel company came out and pumped it out and gave us fresh gas, I don't know if they tested it or not.

We have had that problem with our 20 yo 648.  It started within a few years of buying it new.  For some reason the float and carb were letting fuel run very slowly into the cylinders, and past the rings, and fill the oil pan.   When it was parked for a few weeks it would be full and not discovered until the next use.  We would drain the oil pan and refill and it was good to go.  Cleaning and servicing the carb didn't help.  Since then we have made it practice to turn off the fuel valve when not in use.  No problem since.

If it had been one or two pieces that would have made more sense, but it was happening to every piece of gas equipment that we had filled up on our last delivery.  No issues with gas engines that we hadn't used from that tank.
