I am in need of information regarding private golf cart usage at golf courses. We allow private carts at two of our three municipal courses in California. Does your course(s) allow private golf cart usage and if so what policies do you have in place, how do the pay their fees (one time pass, trail fees), is liability a concern? If you do not allow private carts, why not? We are looking at this program and would appreciate any information you are willing to provide.

    Thanks for your help,

    Josh,

We have over 4,000 private carts that traverse our neighborhood and course on a daily basis. We require an annual cart inspection and permit done by our Customer Service staff. The cart must pass a few points to be used (i.e. lights, reverse buzzer, etc). We also require golf cart liability insurance. Those that wish to play on the course also must have an electric cart with turf tires, and pay a trail fee if they are a member, or a daily trail fee if a non-member resident.

    Andy,

Are your courses primarily private? Also, would you mind sharing with me the annual inspection, permit, and trail fees that are associated with these carts. If you would rather not share them on here my email is jheptig@co.slo.ca.us. I appreciate all of your help and information.

    Take care,

Two of the three are private, with the third being semi-private. I'll shoot you an email tomorrow.
