I know this question has been asked a thousand times. What flags are you using in relation to where the stick is on the green. Front,Middle,or Back? We have used a color scheme of a Red and White checkered for the front, Yellow and Black checkered for the middle and Blue and White for the back. We are now using a solid colors, Burnt orange for the front, Yellow for the middle, and Blue for the back. The checkered flags were a lot nicer in appearance than the current solid colors. I would like to go with all yellow front, middle and back because with the logo we use they look really good. I think now days that most decent players use range finders and the higher hcp player it doesn't matter anyway. I'm going to approach the GM and golf pro about this soon and was wondering what some of you use. Thoughts? Thanks

    Steve

I went to a nice flag with logo on it when I got to my current course. We went to three quadrants on the greens and and let everyone know what the pin location is for the day. Then we have a chart in the carts or that we give to walkers that show what area of the green the pin location is in for the day. People complained a little at first but with a few tweaks we now have no complaints.

We use the red/white, yellow/black and blue/white for front middle back. It is the easiest for the customers to understand quickly.

I got tired of dealing with the hassle of either taking out a place holder flag or taking the flags on and off to change the color every time we changed the pin. This past season we added the small "Please Repair Your Ballmark" flags to each stick and coupled with the little rubber washers we move them up and down dependent on pin placement. Bottom third of the stick for front, middle third for middle, top third for back. It was a pretty cheap fix for the handful of golfers out here who don't own range finders. We are pretty limited on staff so anytime we can save a few minutes worth of our time it makes sense.
