Guys, someday I am actually thinking of retiring. My plan is to work with a travel agent and develop high quality golf and wine tours. Obviously we will do the U.S. but I am also interested in learning about golf courses in several of the wine growing regions in other countries. I would love to meet up with anyone who has the time and attending the GIS to learn from you. When my Supt. days finally come to an end, this is an idea I have considered for a long time. I can be reached in several ways. work, sclark@barona.com 619-328-3991. My personal e-mail is scraigclark@gmail.com and my phone is 858-335-9884. Would love to learn where courses are, good places to stay and the top vineyards and wineries in your areas. We will also look at Australia and certainly Europe. Look forward to meeting several of you hopefully in San Diego at the GIS!

Sandy, give me a call anytime I can help, at least up here. Can't really do much for you as far as other countries go.

You really need to check out Lodi. Lodi was just selected Wine Region of the Year (worldwide!) by Wine Enmthusiast magazine. Lodi wasn't even nominated, as most winners have been in the past. Lots going on here in the wine business. I once heard that nearly half the grapes that go into the high priced Napa/Sonoma wines are actually grown here in Lodi. I've got four wineries on my street, all within walking distance. Come on up and spend a weekend, I'd be happy to show you around.

Thanks Pete. Working up information on Woodinville Washington where all the growers have tasting rooms and also working on the Willamette Valley. Need to learn everything thing I can about each potential area over the next couple of years. All information is helpful!

We vacationed in Valparaiso/Vina del Mar on the Pacific in Chile this past New Years (Summer Down there of course). They have the second largest fireworks show in the world-not really my thing, but I enjoyed our vacation. I heard there were some high end resort courses there although I didn't visit any. And of course there are many vineyards/tours in that area. I met the super at a private club there who would be a good contact for you I'm sure. I'll be at the GIS, he may be there also.

Thanks Roland, maybe we can touch base and introduce me to him. Have a lot of homework to do before I eventually retire including a few possible smaller trips to west coast U.S. spots. I am hoping being a supt. for all these years will result in some good golf industry contacts. The wine part will be a matter of coordination with places to stay, courses in the area and finding the locations that can handle groups. Larry, I haven't forgotten about the Canadian possibilities. The country is so beautiful and the course I have seen are all spectacular with surrounding scenery. I appreciate the tip on grapes in that area. Maybe we can get lucky and have a travel group see your lake monster while we are at it! Imagine the stories from that trip! Of course depending upon the length of an afternoon of wine tasting, we may see Bigfoot, the lake monster and some UFO's all on the same day. Thanks for the tip!
