We just made the conversion from electric to gas this past winter and everyone (including the golfers who can hear a squirrel fart in the next county) seem to be impressed. Again the actual maintenance on gas is easier and cheaper to do than electric, if something goes wrong with an electric cart it seem to always be an expensive part, including the batteries. While the gas carts have to be fueled occasionally you are not relying someone to make sure you plug them in every night. We previously ran a cart 18 holes then put it back on the charger, we only had 42 carts so it didn't take long to run out of charged vehicles. Now it goes 18, we rinse it off and send it back out for another 18 and if its early enough in the day another 9 after that. So we make the 35 carts we have now go a lot further. I will say I chose to lease Yamaha's new QuietTech carts which makes a difference as far as noise and being fuel injected we are averaging 5-5.5 rounds per gallon of gasoline or a little over 25 rounds per tank and we have a relatively "hilly" course. The drawback...you can't have all the neat geofence technology to keep golfers from driving up on green surrounds or out of native areas.
