My spray tech was out spraying herbicide with MSO and apparently didn't clean up the rig before he went out to spray another herbicide that I had Urea and Fe mixed in. After he came in there was a sticky brown film throughout the interior. I've been able to clean the nozzles and screens with brake cleaner and I am currently running a concentrated solution of tank cleaner in it right now.

Any ideas what I can use to clean this up?

    Thanks.

Not sure about MSO but we always used alcohol to clean up Amine herbicide FE incompatibility. Good Luck!

    Hey Keith,
Freddy sells an awesome tank cleaner called "ALL CLEAR", we had a similar issue with a sticky substance after spraying MSO, AS, UFlexx mix and this stuff helped a great deal. We did it twice letting it sit in the tank/lines overnight on the second go around and now we use it monthly as a house keeping.

Thanks Curtis. I'll give Fred a buzz. I was successful getting 90%+ of it cleaned using a organic acid cleaner I got from Jon Tutko at Tampa Bay Turf called " ADSys Stain & Colorant Remover." Just a huge PITA. Running a different tank cleaner that did break up the gunk in a test use. Spray rig is sitting in the yard with the pump running with the stuff in it and will leave it overnight and clean out tomorrow.

    Thanks again.

I had the same problem when mixing Ferrous Sulfate after spraying an Amine herbicide. I called BASF for product support and they recommended using Dawn dish soap to clean the tank. I used 64 oz Dawn in 100 Gallons water, agitated for 30 minutes, it dissolved and cleaned the residue.
