I recently took a job at a course that has no irrigation in the fwys, only on greens and most tees.  I was wondering what are some good practices to help maintain the turf during the summer months?  I'm mowing them right now, even thru a wet spring, at 3/4" with pre-em/fert already down.  Raising height, more/less fertility, keep praying for periodic rain?  Ideas and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I used to work at an 18 hole executive course that only had quick coupler irrigation on tees and greens. Our new  superintendent came in and invested in several 1" hoses and the old Lesco roller bases with impact sprinklers. We would run the hose and roller base to cover the first part of the fairway and typically move them every hour. We also used wetting agents, but back in the early 90s (wow I'm getting old), you had to time application with rain because the wetting agents would burn turf if not watered in fairly quickly. We also used low rates of growth regulators. We would typically get 4 to 6 holes watered a day, then move to another group the next day, and so on. The downfall to a lot of this is how big are your fairways and what type of grass?
    Good luck
