Hi to all, I would like to know if there are any tricks of the trade for getting extended adjustment out of my Jacobsen Lf4677 mower 11 blade 7inch cutting reel heads. The cutting real has reached its limit in machining and I would love to know if anyone has had any experience in going that little bit further by modifying the adjuster to get more reach from the bed knife so it reaches the cutting real, as we are on a budget and will eventually have 14 reels to adjust or replace and we know all this is decent dollars ($$$$). I know replacement of the reels is eventually inevitable but we just want that little bit more adjustment to help us out for a while.... any help would be greatly appreciated?

PS: any modifications to other model Jacobsen cutting reels are also of interest.

You can Grind out the bottom inside of the adjustment bolt bracket so the bedknife can get closer to the reel when adjusting the bolts...... But that will also weaken those brackets so I if you are bottomed out it is time to get new reels and new bedknives.

    Good morning Mark,

You might want to post this in the Shop Talk section to get a better response. Have a great day!
