I guess by the forums the announcement late last night by the association about organizational changes has gone unnoticed. I for one was surprised and have reached out to my field rep for answers. And there has been lots of chatter about it on Twitter. Would love to hear what others think

    Andrew,

I was surprised and saddened by the news and wanted to take someone by the shirt collar shake them around a bit and ask why. I bit my tounge on twitter last night and the more I thought about it as much as I hate to see good people let go I came to this realization....

My reference is from a maximum of less than 60 minutes of casual interaction a year with Jeff and Greg. I am not in the position to make a decision on value to GCSAA or job performance. I have trusted the GCSAA leaders so far and until given a reason not to I will continue to do so.

My biggest concern is how will this affect the relationships Jeff and Greg have built and made on behalf of the association over the years. Greg has been great at putting the industry in a good light on environmental issues.

While personnel issues are always tricky to discuss, I would like to know how Jeff and Greg's strengths will be continued or are we moving in a different direction in regards to their expertiese.

Or maybe a explaination on how our return on the investment will be better with the new direction.

But I trust the board did their due deligence, just hope we will see the big picture soon.

    Thanks,

    Mel

Having worked with both Greg and Jeff even more so over many years I know their contributions to GCSAA will be sorely missed. Jeff ran the GCSAA PR as almost a one man show for many of his years yet still tried to help spread our message throughout the country and was always looking for more ways to get recognition for the work superintendents and their staffs do. Let's hope we can continue to build on the positive messages Greg and Jeff have helped GCSAA spread over their years working at GCSAA. I wish them both the greatest success in the next phase of their careers.
