Hello, and welcome to the new GCSAA Forums!

This past week, we launched the new GCSAA Forums. We hope you like their improved look and functionality, as we aimed to match the look and feel of the Forums with that of the rest of our website. Please let us know if you have any questions or experience any issues.

    Have a great day!

I liked that in the old format it was very easy to browse the categories and see the new posts.  This one you have to look at dates and try to sort it out, even when using the "newest" tab.  It was nice to see the new posts highlighted in a different color.

Ditto. The previous format would un-highlight (is that a word?) the read posts.

    Were the forums broke?
    Why fix it...
Not as user friendly as the prior forums

I just wanted to share the message below, which was posted in the New Forums Update thread yesterday afternoon. The message further explains why we made changes to the Forums format/platform. Please note that we may consider additional changes to enhance the user experience within the Forums.

Thank you for all of the Forums feedback. Unfortunately, the previous Forums platform was no longer being supported by Microsoft, so it was necessary to update the Forums so that we didn’t risk an unrecoverable data loss. There are currently some additional formatting issues on the website on certain pages. IT is working on resolving this problem. Thank you so much for bearing with us during these updates and changes.

    Anthony:

    Question;

during the old format, one could use the back arrow and click onto to "forums read" to clear the slate so that when logging in at another time, only the new threads appeared.  Is there a process for that since I did not see it mentioned in user guide.

    Thanks.

    ken

    Ken,

Good morning! There is not a process for that currently with the new Forums, but we appreciate you inquiring about this. As was mentioned previously, we will continue to evaluate the new Forums and consider potential improvements and added features in order to enhance the user experience.

Thanks, Ken! Have a great day!

I am adaptable to change but also a "creature of habit" when it comes to computers. This forum used to be my goto for information and just fun to read sometimes for me. I find the new format confusing and there is little activity here anymore. I have found http://golftechs.net/
    works better for me now.

Haven't been spending a lot of time on the forums lately so perhaps this has been discussed elsewhere and I just missed it.

Just noticed on my last post that my old "signature" that appeared at the bottom with my name and position no longer appears when I post. Seems like that that is the same for everyone else. Is this feature no longer available or something I just need to re-enter in the system after the update. Was nice to have just to know where people responding are from.

    Thanks.

    Gary,

Good morning! Because of the update, Forums users will have to re-enter their signature. To do so, simply follow these steps:

    - On any page within the Forums, scroll down to the bottom and click on “View or change your forums profile here.”
    - Add information about you/a signature in the “About” box.
    - Click on “Save changes” when done.

You should see your signature appear from that point on. Users are able to change parts of their profile on this page whenever they want to do so.

Hope this helps! Have a great day!

    Anthony

I agree. This format is terrible therefore I seldom look at it anyone more.
