Good morning,
I am at a small, private Club that has a couple unique traits. One is that we have NO TEE Times. The other unique trait is that golf cars can be privately owned by members.
Approx 1/2 of our Members own their own golf cars. The members are not charged a trail fee, however they are billed a yearly storage fee. I have full authority over golf car use during weather concerns.
Due to our fast pace of play (3.5-4 hrs), it is not uncommon for members to enjoy their round in a 5-some. Over the years, I've gotten used to this as they finish in under 4:15 for a round. Lately, I've been witnessing 4 & 5-somes with 4-5 carts. All members are utilizing their own private carts instead of pairing up.
Although our golf rounds are lower than most (14,000/yr), we do experience wear and tear as a result of golf cars. AND most members are irritated when fellow members/guests drive their golf cars in inappropriate areas.
Not sure how many of you are at facilities that allow membership owned golf cars. But if so, do you have a policy in place that restricts or prohibits 2+ cars per group? If you do, could you share how that policy is stated? If your facility rents golf cars, would you allow 3-5 carts/group? Or do you limit?
This concern will be addressed in a future meeting. I'm interested how others might handle this issue.
Thanks in advance, All advice welcome!
Dustin
