    Hi All -

Looking to see what others are doing for ABW control. Have had a limited budget last few years, and was stuck using bifenthrin on adults, gtf, with less then desirable control. Have played with Matchpoint on g/c past two years. Looking to increase abw control budget : Lambda adult apps, Arena on grub and abw early larvae (2 apps), followed by a Provaunt app. Hearing mixed results from some on the Provaunt. ??? Care to share your experiences, successes & failures (especially the products I'm looking into for next year).

    Thanks in advance,

Hi Dennis. Hope you’re doing well since MLA!
I also have a very small budget, but did use Matchpoint which got the beginning of the first gen ABW for me but ran out of gas and ended up with a little 1st gen damage and more in second generation where the overlap of life stages is so prolonged, especially on my collars.
For price reasons I started using Triple Crown (imidacloprid, bifenthrin, zeta-cypermethrin). At the 30oz/A rate it worked very well as a knockdown of ABW grubs. The imidacloprid and bifenthrin repeated apps seem a bit overkill as it’s the zeta-cypermethrin doing the work, but I haven’t found the product available on its own. However it did very well on late instar grubs, maybe you could add it to replace the 2nd Arena app for more varied chemistry to manage resistance and price.
