When I was in Michigan we had Zebra Mussels in our irrigation system. They were really heavy and were plugging up heads. I installed a chemical injector into the system and would periodically run some chlorine through the system. Especially if it rained and I knew the system was going to sit idle for a while. I metered it so I was putting in about 1ppm of chlorine and that was enough to keep them under control in my piping. I got a quote from zequanox to treat my pond and my board wouldnt approve the expense because it was quite pricey. If they only knew the work involved with keeping the heads cleaned. No matter what I told them, they didnt seem to care and grasp the problem
