SW MO on quickstand (and some common) Bermuda, I have this goosegrass question.

Last year, I saw somewhere someone used 6 oz/per acre of Dismiss and 17.4 (I used 16 oz) of Revolver per acre and in September with mature goosegrass,I tried that rate and smoked the goosegrass.

Right now I'm seeing goosegrass just starting to tiller and was wondering if I could try the 4 oz/acre rate of Dismiss (lower end of label rate) and try and cut back on the Revolver at maybe 12, 10 or even 8 oz/acre of that (which is below label rate)? Since the goose isn't that mature?

16 oz rate of Revolver is pricey ($127.50 per acre) and the Dismiss at 6 oz/acre is $63.38 an acre, this is a 190 per acre application). If I don't hear any responses, I might try a couple of different rates myself.

Any other suggestions to kill goose?

    Thanks!

Mel in another discussion it was mentioned that the goose seemed to rebound from the double mixture and that maybe the dismiss knocked back the goose before the revolver could be absorbed. Last week I sprayed the revolver first on Monday and the dismiss on Friday. so far it looks like I am getting great control (especially of the Killinga) but I will not really know for 3-6 weeks to see what sort of rebound may take case. please keep us informed as to what you do so we can compare. I know I was having issues with just the revolver for the last few years and had to try something new.

Thanks James for that information! I'm working on a plan to try different rates and combinations. Hearing what you've heard and tried, I'll definitely keep that in mind.

Hopefully I can see some results from something and will share what I find out.

    Thanks!

    James quick question,

What rates did you use for both products?

While developing my plan, I am going with straight Dismiss on my tees, since I won't have to be as careful with the cool season banks around them. probably using the 4 0z rate, label states to retreat at 35 days after first treatment.

I plan on doing a couple of acres with the 2 mixed together on label rates, then following your lead of Revolver 1st, then 5-7 days later the Dismiss, playing with different rates there.

I know in the past we have spot sprayed a mix of Revolver and MSMA and that has worked well, but we can only spot spray MSMA, boy I wish that was still available for widespread use, can't beat the price and results.

    Thanks!

I used 4oz/acre of Dismiss and at 26oz/acre
This knocked the heck out of the killinga and I am just now seeing some of the goose fade out. looks like I may have to make second applications in order to get it out though.

    Thanks for the info.

In between weather and other applications, I did get my tees sprayed with the Dismiss at 6 oz to an acre. Today is the 3rd day after treatment (DAT) and I am defiantly seeing some yellowing. I will be taking a picture a little later today and will continue to follow up. Plan right now for tees is on the 35 DAT depending on what I'm seeing, I will make a second application of the Dismiss, applying according to the label.

Looking to make that Revolver app on some fairways, but had to do my Primo and wetting agent app first and now waiting on wind to die down and the weather people are calling for heavy rain this weekend.

    Thanks!
