    Quick question,

Are there any noted preemergent resistance issues with certain products?

I know we hear about resistance with other products mainly fungicides and post herbicides, just curious.

    Thanks!

Ronstar resistant Goosegrass comes to mind. Courses that used Ronstar exclusively for several years have had documented resistance.

If Im not mistaken, Virginia Tech has done some work in the past. Try Mike Goately or Shawn Askew.

1st hand experience with Revolver resistant goosegrass. Several well documented issues of Poa annua resistance to Prodiamine. http://www.tennesseeturfgrassweeds.org/Pages/Herbicide-Resistance.aspx These include any of the mitotic inhibitor type pre-ems....dithiopyr, pendimethalin to name a couple.

I didn't read the entire report, but from what I gather through the summary, they were looking at Oxadiazon as a post-emergent.

This summary from November 2016 states there has been no resistance issues found to Oxadiazon. But then they did find resistance plants from a course in Virginia in the study.

The course is the Foundry in Powhatan Virginia, Scott Mauldin Superintendent. Lawrence Mudge with Bayer and Sean Askew with Virginia Tech did the work. Ronstar used as Pre-emergent. I've heard of other scenarios and similar situations, but none as well researched and documented.

Resistant goosegrass to almost all of the pre-emergent herbicides has been an issue for at least the past 10 years on the west side of Richmond at the Foundry and at another course in that area (Independence). We have some suspect plants on our course here in Williamsburg that should probably get tested. Thankfully ours is still controlled with MSMA & Sencor.
