I found it was an easy sell still, even at the higher price. I just had to participate in the free sessions offered (which are still very good sessions). There was at least one paid session I wanted to do, but had to skip out on last year to make up for the price hike.
Thanks Andy,
It's a tough sell here, we had $1,000 dollars for travel/training, and it was slashed to $500. Partly I think because we wouldn't able to use it, or much of it. Used $95 last year for a regional conference, $97 for room, and $190 for my mileage. Going to San Diego would have been about $1,300 - 1,500. My room is about $290, flights are running $378.00 right now, and about $400 for conference, with luggage, shuttle and food, I'm probably looking at just under $1,100. I haven't paid for a seminar for since San Diego 2004, I have always tried to promote the "free" conference education when I have submitted my request, and I know where to hit up for the food freebies.
