    Greetings all,

For the past several months, there has been a collaborative effort involving Capstan Ag, Specialty Enterprises,LLC, F/S Mfg., Wilger Inc., and Midwest Turf Specialties,LLC to create a lightweight turf sprayer with a tip management system and a wide coverage boom. GIS attendees will be able to view and critique this unit at booth #2979.

We hope you will take some time to visit with us.

    Jeff Scott, CGCS retired
    President, Midwest Turf Specialties, LLC

....and in related news, Toro, John Deere, Jacobsen, Smithco, SDI, and several others I can't bring to mind right now probably also have something new out in that sector of the equipment market.

I do not have all their booth numbers at the tip of my tongue.

Thank you for your reply to my post, Pete. I wasn't sure which segment of the Forum to make this announcement. You are correct in that Toro and John Deere are "probably", but we can verify that Jacobsen, Smithco and SDI are "for sure" going to be showing something new that is related to a couple of the companies that I mention in my post.
It's the first time that Specialty Enterprises will have their own display at the show, so I wanted to get their name out for some pre-show exposure.
I hope to visit with you at the GIS. By the way, SGM Industries, also in booth 2979, will be introducing a new feature on their TB 220 grooming brush that will be worth taking a look at.

    All the best,
    Jeff

    Jeff,

Once I registered I began getting several post cards a day in the mail from exhibitors about products, booth info, etc. I am certain there is a cost to that.

I also have been getting several emails from exhibitors with the email being sent from: "GCSAA on behalf of (insert exhibitor company here)." I am curious what GCSAA charges the exhibitor to send those emails to registered attendees.

    Pete,

As soon as we sign up for a booth, I'll receive at minimum 7 email solicitations a week wanting to assist with a full listing of conference attendees; total management of our booth from setup to shutdown and shipping the contents wherever we want them sent; plants for the booth decorations; our choice of very attractive, young, female booth attendants during the show; etc. We have never checked on the prices of the services since we already have quite an investment for our small company in the booth and travel, lodging, food and entertainment. I'm sure the services offered are not cheap. It's pretty incredible what is out there for assistance if you want to pay for it!! There is only one single place where we register for the show, so I'm guessing that's where these companies are coming up with a list of exhibitors...

And, as I've noticed during past Shows, some of them will even shine....your shoes.

Truthfully, pretty good information there, Jeff. I'm glad you mentioned that. I was not aware of the barrage of offers you get when signing up for a Show.

Now I don't know what to think.
