The owners association announced yesterday they are taking their education conference to Orlando to "co-locate" with the PGA show starting in 2020.
For the average superintendent they will barely notice outside of not seeing some of the clubhouse based vendors on the show floor. But for those who are GM/Super it will be a loss of some educational opportunities although we were never allowed to go from conference to conference without paying for both, but some of the education on the floor was for owners/managers.
For me GIS was an opportunity to meet with the Point of Sale, Credit Card and other clubhouse operation vendors and the regular agronomic and equipment vendors.
It will mean less attendance and less booth income from vendors who mainly cater to inside operations along with those that cater inside and outside but will find the PGA show a better investment.
Can we change the name back to the GCSAA Conference and Show now since we lost the CMAA and NGCOA conferences?
