    Greetings;

    If possible, I would like the 2017 dates for the GCSAA golf tournament and GIS. Would like dates for the scramble or bramble and the name and location of golf courses if possible. I will be playing in the super seniors if GCSAA still has that event. If not, what ever event I am eligible for. I am in the planning stages with my wife and daughters for Orlando.

    Thanks for your help.

    Capt.

    I thought they banned sandbaggers a few years ago.

    Hello Capt.

    The dates for the entire events are February 4-9, 2017. I or someone from staff will get more specifics in a reply after the 4th holiday but I wanted to give you what I do know now.

    "Typically", the 4-Ball would be Saturday the 4th, Shamble Sunday the 5th, Classic and Championship (both 2 day events) the 5th/6th. The Education Conference and GIS will be Monday thru Thursday 6th-9th.

    The golf host hotel and courses I do not have but we will share whatever we can about that here early next week.

    I look forward to the events and am glad to hear you are interested in participating, also having your family get together for some fun with you while in Orlando.

    Thank You Peter;

    That gives me a good window to plan for the event.

    My daughters are not that young, ages are 56, 52, and 42. They have to plan care for a dog about 5 cats and four horses and two ponies. The grandchildren can help out but they work and live to far away.

    Now Corey;

    Yes, I did have you 2 down after 2 but what you fail to mention - I was 3 down after 9. The back side I only lost a couple down. I think the tournament was in San Antonio or maybe San Diego. Now, why don't you dig down in those DEEP pockets of yours and play in the GCSAA Tournament in Orlando. Just leave your one iron home.

    Capt/Corey,

    If you both play, in the same flight, in the same group, I will gladly caddy for you both.

    Capt., you can use the nickel I took from you as a ball marker.

    Greetings Mr. Cummins;

    Thank you for the information;

    One more question - What is a Shamble? Sorry, I have another question - All the divisions and senior divisions will be over on Sunday?? Yes ---- No I know the championship will be played on Monday.

    Thank You -

    Mr. Peter Bowman - You mean to tell me you still have that nickel you won from me on my home golf course?

    You gents from California should take it easy on me.

    A shamble means, that everyone hits a drive, you take the best one and play your own ball in from there. That's how we play a shamble anyway, I think Super Seniors should get to hit from the kids markers, then the Capt.'s. team will be hitting wedges for second shots. Wouldn't help me, I would still be lucky to par due to my 3 putting.

    Mel's description of a Shamble is correct. You can either form your own team or be paired randomly to meet new folks. That format is a new addition in the last few years and it has been selling out. It gives someone a chance for a one day fun event, or combine with the 4 ball then still be able to attend the full 4 days of Conference/Seminars/GIS.

    To play in the Classic which is the flighted event (includes the Seniors and Super Seniors), that is a 2 day, Sunday and Monday commitment.

    We look forward to a great event in Orlando, welcoming back those who play every year, those who have played in the past and certainly any new participants to any of the 4 format options.

    We need to make plans for a meet up while everyone is in Florida. My time is limited as that's high season for us, but I would like a chance to take a swing at a couple of you.
