I am looking to get my MBA and I am looking for all opinions on what specialization I should go into. Right now I am leaning toward data analytics for the pure interest in numbers and trends. I also understand the finance option would be beneficial. I belive now is the time to get a masters if there ever was a good time.

I am also open to the argument of not going beyond my bachelors degree.

Everyone has an opinion and I would love to hear them all.

This may be odd coming from a person with just a few Penn State online course to his name but since you said any opinions I wanted to give it a go.

Education is the backbone of life. when we stop striving to learn more we basically give up. even though I have no real college education I have pushed myself to learn so much from so many. I happen to be one of those guys that can do just about anything construction wise. I have learned carpentry, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, drainage, horticulture, sheetrock work, tile work, metal working and I like to think of myself as a top mechanic in this field, and I have taught myself how to build computers from the ground up.

While I have accomplished all of this it has taken me a lot of time and hard work to achieve. all of this is what I love to do though and has kept my interest over the last 40 years.

That said I worked three jobs at once to put my wife through 6 years of college so she could build a career for herself because I strongly believe in education. When ever I get high school kids working for me I push them towards college.

Sounds to me like your in need of more education. not because you have to have it for work but because your life would be dull without it. as me installing a new floor in my house myself thrills me, it seems like the quest for more information, to learn and grow is what thrills yourself.

Nothing wrong with that. as for what to learn, that's on you but I personally always like to learn new things. things that may help me now or down the road.

    I say Go for it.

Thank you for your story! I wasn't even thinking about the continued education part. However you hit it on the head for me. I am always trying to learn and there's no better time than now to get my MBA. Update from the posting is that I have been accepted to LSUs online degree program. I will be looking at my options as to when to start.
