We are looking for some sort of safety manual to give our employees and to cover insurance. Do any have suggestions or a safety manual that they use for employees?

    Michael,

I don't know exactly what you are looking for but if its machine safety your dealer should be able to give you DVD's for your equipment that covers safe operating. We make our operators watch them every year and then I record the date and time and they all sign showing they have watched it. We use John Deere safety videos and the crew watches it in Spanish then for those who need English they watch it.

I have seen this go both ways from useful to useless. insurance company's use this for what is not in the manual . Most clubs have a lawyer which is more help than anything when wording for insurance company's.I have seen managers who do documented safety meetings which help in training for things like don't dump on a side hill or even tie your shoe laces. I have seen these meetings help with other concerns like don't turn on the collar or don't pull off the path by the green when changing cups. If the spirit is not there it can turn into a you have to wear your hard hat or safety glasses or work gloves at all times.
