    Hello all,

Currently I am Active Duty and my contract will be up in August of 2021 so I have some time. I'm attending Penn State World Campus in pursuit of a degree in Turf. I've been keeping an eye on internships to see what is popping up. I'm currently working at a course on the weekends where I am stationed (Virginia Beach). This is my only course maintenance experience but I'm enjoying it and learning a lot. So now for the question.... A lot of intern positions that I see posted offer housing... I'm married and when I get out of the Navy my son will be a year and a half old... would they be able to join me in the housing that is provided? I'm sure it varies by course but I wanted to see what you all think. Thanks y'all!

    Hey Justin,
God bless you for serving our great country.
I had a family when I did my internship. I was all setup at a top club out on Long Island that offered housing but I could not take my family.
In the end, since I couldn't be with my family, I handed it over to my best friend.
I ended up at a small club locally that didn't offer a formal internship like you see on this site. I learned so much more because I was entrusted with nearly every facet of the operation.
What I'm saying is this; don't limit yourself. There are plenty of clubs that will take someone with your drive and determination, especially in this environment (any help is tough to come by).
Just check with a counselor at Penn State and see how and if you can choose your own site.
I know this doesn't answer you question but I hope this helps in some way.
    Good luck to you.
