    Good morning,

With the GIS right around the corner, I expect to have some free time in the airport and on the plane. I'm looking for recommendations for a management type book that can help me assess and refocus my approach to better handle today's staffing concerns. I have noticed over this past couple of years that I have been in the industry that my internal drive doesn't translate as well as I remember and would like to learn where I need to adjust to improve my effectiveness with my staff.

I'm looking for some reading recommendations to help me through this reflection and self improvement process.

    Thanks in advance

Here are a few to take a look at.

Rory Vaden - Take the Stairs
    Stephen Covey - 7 Habits
Patrick Lencioni - The Five Dysfunctions of a Team
    - The Advantage
Simon Sinek - Leaders Eat Last
    - Start with Why

Any of the Simon Sinek books mentioned are really good as well as 7 Habits. Check out FISH, Stephen C. Lundin. Easy ready and really good thought process to creating a positive culture at work.

I read a few by Ken Blanchard and Spencer Johnson

    The 1 Minute Manager
Putting the 1 Minute Manager to work.

Had to read them for a Supervision class in school. Very good books

A friend just recommended the book "The Power of Habit; Why we do what we do in Business and in Life" by Charles Duhigg. I have just ordered it, but haven't read it yet.

Thanks for all of the recommendations. I have a list on hold at the library.

I am currently reading Extreme Ownership.

I highly recommend. And look forward to selecting the next read.
