My course took a pretty good hit from Hurricane Matthew in regards to wind damage from trees. 300 knocked down and about 400 leaning removed. Some of the trees sat on our turf for two to three weeks and in some cases more.

Since then up till now in many of those areas we have thin to no turf at all, just soil. I've sprayed several combinations of insecticides (Scimitar/Imidacloprid, Scimitar/Bifenthrin) with no results. I tested soil last week and got results back today only showing Potassium deficiency and micronutient deficiency.

These areas showed up only immediately after the hurricane... Is it possible for nematodes to wash into areas after a very heavy rainfall? (15 inches)

    Any help would be great?

How were the trees removed? Is there a possibility wood such as sawdust or chips raised C/N ratio? What about contamination from fuel or oil used in equipment...such as chainsaws? Any stumps or tree roots remaining after clean up will continue to compete with grass roots for while.

Were any herbicides applied prior to the storm/rain? Or possible runoff from nearby properties that applied something and it puddled up in those spots?
