Has anybody had any experience dealing with pearlwort in bentgrass greens? I have one green that is pretty bad and most all other greens have at least a few patches as well, and it is spreading. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Quick silver smokes it but is only labeled for moss. Noticed this when I was using it to control some moss and the pearl wort was right next to it. if it is small enough plug it out, if not treat that moss you have on that green.

I can attest to this. Had moss and sprayed quicksilver and found out I had a couple spots of pearlwort. In my experience though it is not a great control. Makes it look dead but after a couple weeks the plants are still there. Generally the moss takes a couple apps to die back and so does the pearlwort.

The only time I've had any issue with Quicksilver was when I put it with my first app of Primo for the year. I would not recommend doing that as is made things go a little more off color than normal.

I have used quicksilver on bent/poa greens and never seen damage from it. I have heard that high rates of quicksilver might off color your greens but thats about it. I was also up in northern vermont and the temp. was not that extreme at the time.

Sprinkling the old KOG from Scotts knocks it right out, I like doing it the week before aerification. Works every time just wear a rubber glove and sprinkle it on after greens are cut or early on a day no mow or roll.
