I have an essay question that I need a little help in. Describe the 3 things that will drive change in the golf course maintenance industry over the next 10 years.

Some topics that come to mind

    Water usage (severe drought)

Interest in the industry declining leads to loss of customers (fear for our job)

What comes to your mind in the 10 years in golf course maintenance?

    Thanks in advanced!

    The tier 4 engine management.
You have to have a maintenance contract because the mechanics can't afford the equipment to work on them. This will drive up the cost of operation.

the rising cost of getting QUALITY EMPLOYEES I think will be a huge topic to think about. It's already hard on the budget as labor takes up a major part of the overall, but people can't work for 7.75 anymore. And if you do find help on the lower scale, more often than not, you spend much of your time micromanaging them.
Quality of work, a sense of pride in your job, and just overall work ethic is also something I see being a problem, as we have all faced this with younger people. I'm only 31, but I see it and it is very frustrating to see young students that do not value work. I'm not going to get into the differences in generation, just my 2 cents.
the water issues depend on where you are obviously, and if we are all trying to grow quality grass, over watering shouldn't be an issue where there aren't restrictions.

Not my normal mouthpiece, but depending on the way the Government turns after the election, the role of the EPA and other Government Agencies play may become much more important that in the past. If we see more regulations on items like the Waters of the United States, it may be a game changer for everyone.

    1. Labor laws.
    2. Water conservation (depends on state).
    3. Death of golfers vs. new golfers
